Welcome to New Horizons

New Horizons "Multi Activity" centre is a modern, lively, convivial centre for all those aged 50 and over. At New Horizons we celebrate age, stage and experience. Our aim is to promote active lifestyles and independence. Whether you are looking for new challenges, health support or the opportunity to make new acquaintances, do come and see all that we have to offer. Membership (75% from K&C Borough; 25% From Non-Borough, waiting list pending.)

The Bradbury Orangery Café will be open from 9.30-4.00pm for food and drinks. (Last service 4.00pm)

PLEASE NOTE: As from Friday 1st April 2016 all classes can only be paid for 1 hour in advance. For all Physical Activity Classes, there will be NO admittance if you are 10 minutes late. This does not apply to the courses that are advertised as 'Please Book'.

New Horizons is closed for the festive break from MONDAY 19th DECEMBER 2016 and re-opens Tuesday 3rd January 2017. However, most classes do not resume until the following week, commencing MONDAY 9th JANUARY 2017.

New Courses for 2017 - PLEASE BOOK

Social Media - 5 weeks, £3 per session. Starts Monday 9th Jan 2017, 1-3pm Begin your journey into social media. Learn about and how to use the basic features of Facebook, Twitter, Skype/Youtube. Learn how to register, log in and to post photos & messages; see the possibilities of communicating with people, friends and relatives around the world in an easy to use format.

Windows 10 for Beginners - 6 weeks, £3 per session. Starts Monday 20th Feb 2017, 1-3pm If you would like to learn how to learn the first basics of how to use PC's with Windows 10, then this course is for you. It covers: navigate the desktop, open app, working with file, adjust your setting, search for files and app. Finally, tips for managing multiple windows.

PLEASE NOTE There will be no AGE UK Digital Clinic on FRIDAY 27th January 2017. The next one will be 10am - 12pm, Friday 24th February 2017.

Bowen Technique Treatments

Bowen Technique is a gentle but effective hands on treatment involving manipulation and mobilisation of soft tissue, ie muscle, tendons and ligaments It was developed by Thomas Bowen, an osteopath, in Australia over 100 years ago, and is now used world wide by many practitioners with great success. It can be carried out through clothing. For an appointment, lasting 45mins, please phone Jocelynne. 07931 543226. STARTS: Monday 14th November 2016, 9am - 1pm slots. £30 per appointment.

Love, Loss and Lighting the Path Back to Hope.

How can you help? Cruse Bereavement Care supports about 300 people each year who are struggling to cope because someone has died. 100% say they would recommend this service to others. 100% of the service is delivered by trained volunteers. Could you become one of them? Come learn about bereavement support, expand your understanding of this very rewarding type of volunteer work and equip yourself with the knowledge you'll need to decide if this special kind of volunteering is right for you. No experience necessary, could be perfect especially (but certainly not only) for the 'almost retiring' and 'newly retired' looking to devote some meaningful time to a worthwhile cause. If you have the ability to listen, show empathy and understanding and have an interest in supporting people who are struggling because someone has died, please come to this 90-minute session to learn more about how you might be able to help.
